ALERT: Don NOT order Silver Eagles Now!
Yes, it's a strange title of this email blast from someone like me, but here's the deal...
The silver pricing mechanism is 100% breaking down and the halting of the US Silver Eagle production (ordered by US Treasury Secretary, Jack Lew) is a HUGE warning that the breakdown will NOT be orderly.
I have been hearing rumors that dealers are taking orders at the currently very low, low silver prices for US Silver Eagles that will be delivered when the US Mint restarts production. Some are quoting 4-6 weeks or longer even though the US Mint has not given a time frame as to when sale of Eagles will restart.
As such, if you cannot immediately buy and take possession of US Silver Eagles then I suggest buying ANOTHER form of silver that is ready to be delivered!
Here's my list of what silver to buy in order of priority:
1) Pre-1965 silver coinage (premiums skyrocketing because they are LEGAL money in the US)
2) 1 oz government minted silver coins (more trust upon resale and harder to counterfeit)
3) 1 oz silver rounds (easier to sell than large bars if silver goes to $1,000/oz)
4) 5-10 oz silver bars (again easier to sell than the 100oz bars at higher prices)
5) 100 oz bars (they may be the cheapest per oz but they are also the most likely to be filled with molybdenum..sounds tasty don't it? :)
6) 1,000 oz COMEX bars (REALLY? Unless you have your own forklift and smelter in your backyard stay away from these at all costs!)
If none of these options sound appealing and you'd rather take the risk that you will get delivery of the Silver Eagles you orderd someday in the future from your trusted dealer...then so be it.
Remember...unless they have the product in inventory even the "trusted dealers" are relying on someone else to get them your metal.
