Lots going on these days with asteroids and meteors buzzing the planet and such :-)
How could that effect our monetary system? It all depends on how close they come to us. Just Google "Electromagnetic Pulse" and you'll get the idea. They can definitely effect our satellites, GPS systems, "just in time" delivery systems and on and on. Anything related to computers is at risk. That includes our electronic money.
I'm not sayin' it's gonna happen but you should ask yourself just how safe our electronic monetary system really is. After all, it's only been around since the 1970's!
So stay safe. Physical metal in your own possession can even withstand a direct hit from an asteroid! :-)
Then again, if it's not an asteroid that destroys our fragile monetary system it will surely be our Congressmen!
I'm off to find more pre-1965 coinage :-)
